General Portfolio

Welcome, I am Adel Alkhamisy, hailing from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Since 2016, I have been a dedicated member of the educational community at the College of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Jeddah, where I have served as a teaching assistant. My academic roots were established at King Abdulaziz University, where I graduated with honors with a bachelor of science in information technology, in 2013. This formative period was marked by an extensive engagement with a variety of programming languages, including Java, C, C++, and Python, as well as scripting languages like Javascript and Typescript. I developed a robust skill set encompassing internet applications, databases, and network systems and honed my expertise in both front-end and back-end web development.

My academic pursuits have been recognized and supported by two significant scholarships. In 2014, I received a scholarship to study the English language at the Cal Poly English Language Institute in California. Later, in 2021, the University of Jeddah awarded me a scholarship for my advanced studies in MS and PhD in computer science at George Mason University. I also completed the INTO Mason program, enhancing my research methodologies and academic writing skills, which are crucial for success in higher education.

In 2023, I graduated with an MS in computer science (machine learning concentration) from George Mason University, with an excellent GPA of 3.77/4. The MS was an enriching journey through the realms of machine learning, data mining, natural language processing, deep learning, and more. It solidified my theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing me for the intricate challenges of my ongoing Ph.D. program.

I am currently a PhD student at George Mason University, deeply immersed in the intricacies of machine learning within my computer science program. My exploration in this field has provided me with a profound understanding of various specializations, including data mining, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, software engineering for the World Wide Web, artificial intelligence, and algorithm analysis.

As I progress toward completing my PhD in computer science, my goal is to return to the University of Jeddah as a professor. I am passionate about imparting my knowledge and experience to inspire and mentor the next generation of tech enthusiasts. My focus lies at the nexus of machine learning and software engineering, aiming to foster innovation and exploration in computer science.
